It’s not that you CAN’T – It’s that you WON’T

Many a days do I hear people complaining (yes even I complain some days too) about certain things. I hear people say well I can’t do this or that and then a list of reasons why. I understand that sometimes you really do want to do something but just can’t – Example: You want to quit your job and open a business but you have kids to feed. I understand that some things you can’t do simply because you can’t! With that being said I  know a lot of things that CAN be done but people WON’T do them. I hear I can’t work out  or lose weight because I don’t have the time, anybody to keep my kids, or money for a gym. I can solve all those problems! TRUST me I KNOW! My husband wakes up to go workout before the kids and I are up, we get the kids and ourselves ready for work/school. I pick up the kids from school get supper ready, get everybody bathed and ready for bed and then Russell usually is back at the office studying for another test! *We are about to take a 5 year break, PRAISE LORD! He needs it, he has been taking tests for almost 9 years now to get all these certifications he has, he needs a break!*  So when and where am I suppose to workout? There are many a nights I was doing insanity at 9:00 p.m or HIIT workouts in the garage while the kids slept and he studied. Right now I am pregnant so I obviously can’t do insanity or HIIT so I am having to adjust and it is hard. Russell has offered to study at home so I can go swimming or work out at the gym but I know he studies better at the office. I wanted to say CAN’T and probably did every once in a while BUT I DIDN’T!!!  Now the past few months CAN’T has been apart of my vocabulary because my body physically couldn’t do it with the nausea and tiredness of this baby. I do force myself whenever I know I can dig deep.

I don’t won’t this quote above to make you think just working out or eating healthy! This applies to a lot of different things in life! Sometimes good things can’t happen to us because we don’t try! We give up before we even try to see if we can! Take that next step! Take that big leap of faith!

Which do you choose? Feed it or Fight it??

How true is this? I mean really! We don’t think of it like this but every time we eat or drink we are either feeding it or fighting it! When you’re sick do you eat cheeseburgers, fries, cokes, and cupcakes to get better??? I can answer that NO! You usually go to foods that are high in vitamins and foods that are healthier! If I have diabetes and I continue to eat bad then what do you think I am doing? I am making my diabetes worse. I am not fighting it, I am feeding it! Every single time you put a bite of food in your mouth think of this! You may not have a disease now or know you have a disease but you can’t prevent a lot of diseases by simply eating healthier!

For the rest of this week and this weekend really focus on what you put in your mouth. Is it going to feed a disease or fight it?

Being healthy means different things to different people

I talk all the time about living a HEALTHY lifestyle. When I post about being healthy I am not just saying it is about your weight, your size, or eating fruits it is about your mind, spirit and heart as well! When I say be healthy that doesn’t mean to run 3 miles and then eat a cheeseburger everyday, it doesn’t mean to eat healthy, exercise, and have a nasty attitude. Healthy means different things to different people. When I say healthy I want you to focus on eating as healthy as possible with little splurges, exercising, focus on being happy, have a positive attitude, meditate, and so forth. I am not saying to just be “skinny” I want you to be truly happy and healthy! I want you to live a healthy, happy lifestyle so that your body will last for years and years! When we are healthy we are happier! You have to put your mind, spirit, and heart in it as well! It can’t just be a body thing. You have to connect all of them to live a truly healthy lifestyle.

Today really focus on being healthy! Whatever it is you need to work on to be healthier do it! After you do it today try again on Wednesday and then Thursday – day by day make your way to a healthier body!

Are you a body shamer?? All of our bodies deserve to be called beautiful!

Body shaming isn’t just for larger women but also skinnier women get body shamed as well! IT NEEDS TO STOP!

Some women are just going to have a “skinnier” body type and others will have a “larger” body type, that doesn’t make either one of them ugly! I think both women are attractive and can see where some think a thinner person or a thicker person is more beautiful. We have different body builds and so everyone will look different!

Embrace your body and others bodies as well! Don’t look at yourself and think you’re ugly just because you are a different body build than someone else. Look at yourself and see the beauty! Look at others and see their beauty! Embrace all bodies and know we are all different AND that is what makes each and every one of us special!

Go out today and rock that body of yours! Strip down and own that body of yours for your special someone! Don’t be ashamed! Confident women are much more attractive!

Always out of breath when running????

I used to do this all the time and STILL catch myself doing it a lot. I try to keep my body relaxed when I run and it makes running so much easier! I make sure my hands aren’t in a fist but that they are loose. I act like I am holding a quarter between my thumb and index finger to remind me not to squeeze. I also lean forward a touch and lift my chest up. Having the proper form and finding things that help you always make running more fun and easier to do!

Start this weekend and try to create a better life for yourself!! Go ahead and plan for next week this weekend! Write on your calendar, set all your gym clothes out for the week, plan your healthy meals and go grocery shopping! You have this weekend to prepare to have a good week next week!
