It’s the soul that needs the surgery – Thanks Beyonce!

We all are striving to be a perfect person. Why? We look in the mirror and see all these imperfections but we don’t see all the beauty that is there. We shine the light on the all the bad things and it is a disease. We try to fix our teeth, nose, chin, hair, boobs, waist until we are hurting ourselves. We are trying so hard to look better. We are bulimic, anorexic, popping pills, injections and surgeries, for heaven’s sake we are eating orange juice soaked cotton balls to be skinnier! We have lost our minds.

When you look at your life do you want to be happy? What do you see? Do you see yourself standing over a toilet throwing up, do you see yourself getting plastic surgery, do you see yourself doing these dangerous things to be so-called “pretty”?

Screw the size 0 jeans, screw the perfect nose, screw getting called “pretty”. Fix what needs to be fixed as Beyonce says …”It’s the soul that needs the surgery”

Take a look at your inner self and stop looking at whats on the outside. Fix your inside. I don’t give a flying shit what anyone else thinks – all that matters is that I am happy with myself! AND that starts by loving yourself.  Love the imperfections because that is what makes you who you are. The mole behind my ear that was quiet large (which I had to get cut off) but I use to hate it and then I started loving it because I saw it as a connection. My grandfather had a big mole right behind the same ear. I have a mole on my temple and my brother has one in the exact same spot so I like it…it feels like a connection..we are the same. So I don’t hate it..It reminds me of my blood line. Things are past down that make you who you are – UNIQUE and BEAUTIFUL. ONE OF A KIND – not a reproduced plastic Barbie doll.

Take some time to reflect today on how you see yourself. Make sure you are loving yourself and not hating on yourself trying to be something you’re not. Stop trying to be what everyone else thinks you should be YOU the BEST YOU but ALL YOU!!!! Your beautiful perfect self as is!

Pretty Hurts”

[Harvey Keitel:] Ms. THird ward, your first question – what is your aspiration in life?
[Beyoncé:] Oh… My aspiration in life… would be… to be happy.

(Uh huh huh)
(Uh huh huh)
(Uh huh huh)

[Verse 1:]
Mama said, “You’re a pretty girl.
What’s in your head, it doesn’t matter
Brush your hair, fix your teeth.
What you wear is all that matters.”

[Pre-Hook:]
Just another stage, pageant the pain away
This time I’m gonna take the crown
Without falling down, down, down

[Hook:]
Pretty hurts, we shine the light on whatever’s worst
Perfection is a disease of a nation, pretty hurts, pretty hurts
Pretty hurts, we shine the light on whatever’s worst
We try to fix something but you can’t fix what you can’t see
It’s the soul that needs the surgery

(Uh huh huh)

[Verse 2:]
Blonder hair, flat chest
TV says, “Bigger is better.”
South beach, sugar free
Vogue says, “Thinner is better.”

[Pre-Hook:]
Just another stage, pageant the pain away
This time I’m gonna take the crown
Without falling down, down, down

[Hook:]
Pretty hurts, we shine the light on whatever’s worst
Perfection is a disease of a nation, pretty hurts, pretty hurts (pretty hurts)
Pretty hurts (pretty hurts), we shine the light on whatever’s worst
We try to fix something but you can’t fix what you can’t see
It’s the soul that needs the surgery

[Bridge:]
Ain’t got no doctor or pill that can take the pain away
The pain’s inside and nobody frees you from your body
It’s the soul, it’s the soul that needs surgery
It’s my soul that needs surgery
Plastic smiles and denial can only take you so far
Then you break when the fake facade leaves you in the dark
You left with shattered mirrors and the shards of a beautiful past

[Hook:]
Pretty hurts, we shine the light on whatever’s worst (pretty hurts)
Perfection is a disease of a nation, pretty hurts, pretty hurts
Pretty hurts, we shine the light on whatever’s worst
We try to fix something but you can’t fix what you can’t see
It’s the soul that needs the surgery

[Outro:]
When you’re alone all by yourself (pretty hurts, pretty hurts)
And you’re lying in your bed (pretty hurts, pretty hurts)
Reflection stares right into you (pretty hurts, pretty hurts)
Are you happy with yourself? (pretty hurts, pretty hurts)

You stripped away the masquerade (pretty hurts, pretty hurts)
The illusion has been shed (pretty hurts, pretty hurts)
Are you happy with yourself? (pretty hurts, pretty hurts)
Are you happy with yourself? (pretty hurts, pretty hurts)
