Thinking of running……

For those newbies- start by running  1/4 a mile or 1/2 a mile and walking..like below:

warm up :Walk 1/2 a mile

Run 1/4 to 1/2 mile

Walk 1/4 to 1/2 mile

Run 1/4 to 1/2 mile

(do the interval of run/walk until you have run/walk 2 miles – the warm up and cool down do not count in the 2 miles)

cool down- walk 1/2 mile

Then slowly start changing instead of running 1/4 mile run 1/2 mile…when you get to running 1/2 mile and feel good up that to 3/4 mile, then when that feels good move it to 1 mile. I find that most of us can make those little goals. It is the big jumps that throw us! So try just doing a little at a time and slowly build up!

This is how I started and the other girls I have helped, so try it! Just do a little at a time!
