First be MENTALLY prepared, if you are not fully ready you can never change yourself! Physically or mentally changing yourself is hard to do so go ahead and prepare yourself for the hard road that faces you. I have faith in you and know that you my friend are a strong ass woman who can kick butt when she puts her mind to it! So what are you waiting for, get started!
1,500 calories a day is usually how much total I eat, unless I am doing a high intensity workout and I need more energy.Calories are listed on the back of products just look at the servings (sometimes is can trick you)
Water! WATER! Water! I hate it, but the more I drink the better my skin looks, more energy I have, the more full I feel. Try adding oranges, lemons, cucumbers! Experiment to add different flavors!
NO SODAS! They bloat you, which makes you look bigger than what you really are..also they are linked to giving you sweet cravings. IF I have a soda (diet or non) IT IS A TREAT!!! I substitute for unsweet tea or unsweet with stevia.
Replace your peanut butter with PB2 – powdered peanut butter – TRUST ME! Look at the difference and calories, you will thank me!
Before you eat drink a glass of water or drink up to 3 times a day before each meal 1 cup diet grapefruit juice with 2 TBSP of apple cider vinegar. (certain medicines react with grapefruit so switch to orange juice if your medicine might react) I believe it is Miranda Kerr that just drinks the 2 TBSP by itself. I usually shoot it and chase it with a sip or two of grapefruit. Whichever you prefer. It is a detox drink that speed up metabolism. I don’t know really – not a rocket scientist here – just an artist BUT it makes me have more energy and helps my digestion. I only do it once in the morning before I eat and I don’t do it everyday. Makes your stomach a little sour but it goes away in 30 mins.
Eat as clean as possible! I usually try to stay away from the middle aisles at the grocery store, I sometimes have to hit it because hey – I have two young boys and a husband at home who sometimes just want a oreo!

Out of sight out of mind – best way to go. If you don’t have it, you can’t eat it, which means you will have to eat the fruit instead of a cookie or bag of chips. If you are like me and have others in the house, hide it – OR portion control it. Go ahead and put in baggies that are the serving of calories you want. It stops you from overeating, by the way always do portion control! Never take the bag, box, whatever it is and eat straight out of it! You are just begging to overeat! Count out the 16 chips and put in a bowl, close the bag up and then go sit and eat!
Exercise of any type is a must. Why? You won’t believe how much better you feel physically and mentally when you exercise. Make your goals little until you can reach a big goal – running 1 mile or running 13 miles. Until you get to the large goal have small goals and treat yourself when you reach them. It takes a while to start to enjoy exercising so give it a few weeks, don’t give up so easily, man up!
